European Social Firm of the Year Award 2016
In 2016 we continued with the SFE CEFEC tradition to award the Social Firm which presents best according to the attached Registration Form. We hope that you will encourage your own social firm or other social firms in the orbit of SFE CEFEC movement. First of all, we are thinking of SFE CEFEC members, but befriended social firms can also apply. Please take this to your organization and prepare the following:
- Send the completed Form by 30th June 2016 and a photo of the intended poster at socialfirmseurope@gmail.com ;
- Create a poster DIN AO Format and bring it with you on the first day of the next SFE CEFEC Conference;
- The AWARD Committee acts as jury and will evaluate the Form and Poster after 30th June 2016 and will inform all the applicants of its decision by the beginning of August 2016;
- The representatives of the social firm will be asked during the breaks of the Conference to present the SF by the poster or any other performance;
- The winner will be presented during the Gala Dinner during the Conference and will win the equivalent of 500 euro, which will cover the participation fee and one night of accommodation.

European Social Firm of the Year Award 2015
The winners of the 2015 SFE CEFEC Award were 2 organizations, one from Greece – KOISPE DIADROMES and one from Switzerland – Öko-Reinigungsservice GmbH.
The aim of KOISPE DIADROMES is the continuous, stable and reliable support of the Cooperative through the Work Team to ensure the viability of the enterprise and the continuous creation of new employment positions maintaining a balance between the entrepreneurial strategy and the social aims, fighting and eliminating the social stigma, through – among others – the creation of a work identity and the improvement of the financial position of the Cooperative’s members in times of crisis.
Öko-Reinigungsservice Ltd. is a charitable social firm. The employees work in mixed teams, disabled and non disabled on the open market. The firm aims at creating jobs and sustain them. The firm works on the basis of social justice, ecological tolerance and sustainability and in this way it acts responsibly in our society. Their unique selling point is “Confidence and Support”, because added value is only possible if employees are respected and estimated.
“Öko-Reinigungsservice Ltd.” changed the name to “Oeko Service Ltd.”, because of the two new services gardening and housekeeping/maintenance, www.oekoservice.ch

The winner of the 2014 SFE CEFEC Award – DOBROVITA Company for training and employment of people with disabilities d.o.o. from Ljubljana (Slovenia) which presented through a theater play their best practice DONE and DUSTED!
SFE CEFEC would like to continue with its Award tradition, this time with feedback from all conference participants, allowing for further development at the next conference. In this way, Social Firms can present and share good and best practices.
What you need to do:
• A poster – free to be created as you wish and brought to the conference by 29th May 2014, 6 PM

As a Social Firm, OWR creates jobs and training opportunities for people in Oxfordshire, particularly people with disabilities and those who find it difficult to find work. It aims to reduce, reuse and recycle wood and timber, thereby helping to reduce the amount of ‘waste’ wood currently sent to landfill
Started 5 years ago, OWR meet an environmental and social bottom line and have almost tripled their turnover in 3 years without any subsidies, Though small, there are highly effective.

Arcobaleno, Italy

Started with just 5 employees, Arcobaleno now have 261 full time employees of whom 78 are disabled or disadvantaged and 21 part time employees of whom 6 are disabled or disadvantaged. Founded in 1992 Arcebaleno create new activities, designed to offer job opportunities to people from the area of social disadvantage.
Best Small Social Firm 2010:
Brighter Future Workshop, UK

BFW has 5 full time employees all of whom are disabled and 4 part time employees of whom 1 is disabled. Their project provides equality for people with various types of disabilities and those who have previously suffered from exclusion; they address these barriers to social integration, by offering recycled equipment and training to otherwise isolated individuals.
Best Social Firm creating sustainable jobs specifically for people with mental health problems 2010:
Daisies Café, Northern Ireland

Daisies Café provides an alternative form of day care for people with learning disabilities and mental illness through training and employment opportunities in a commercial environment. It was the first Social Firm in Northern Ireland to mix both mental health and learning disabilities and has doubled it’s turnover in 3 years with no subsidies.
